NWL Founder Interviews Indigo Expert, Nancy Tappe
“A storm is a confluence of energy moving through the atmosphere to bring about change. On earth, storms occur as part of nature; man can neither halt nor prevent them. Man can only wait them out and then determine a course of action, either using his resources to adjust and adapt to new circumstances or to behave as a hapless victim. In the aftermath of a storm, rebirth and renewal can occur. The fact that mankind is still here today constitutes evidence that he has remarkable talents in courage and adaptation. During the mid-twentieth century, Nancy Tappe saw the beginning of a change that would affect mankind and signal the beginning of a new way of life. She did not recognize it as such initially. No one could have. But she saw it nevertheless, labeled it, and waited to see what would happen.”
The above excerpt is from Nancy’s latest creation the book, Indigos – the quiet storm, which was written by Kathy Altaras.

NWL Integrates Spanish into Curriculum
Students of New World Leadership Children's Academy will experience an entirely new style, format and language as one of its lessons this year. It's Spanish Lencsi style! Lencsi Angel, a member of the NWL Board of Directors and co-owner of her own business (Connective Alchemy), is teaching Spanish through song, movement, reading, art and many other modalities to align with the experience and project-based learning style of the Children's Academy.
These immersion lessons are designed to engage the students through language and the cultures of Spanish influenced countries and teach them the similarities and the gifts of diversity as they learn to interact using the Spanish Language.
Lencsi was born and raised in Wisconsin by her parents who were Hungarian immigrants. English was her second language and by the end of high school she was also fluent in Spanish. Lencsi has an extensive background in teaching from Special Education to First and Second grade and also in developing after school and service programs for her classrooms.
New World Leadership Children's Academy looks forward to many language opportunities with the diverse make up or its community.
Peace Packs for Africa
This week, students of New World Leadership Children's Academy prepared and sent PEACE PACKS to the children of the Fiwagoh Orphanage and students of Kenya. The Peace Pack Project is the opportunity for students to learn about another culture and then reach out to the youth by sending these packages of Peace; hand-imprinted knapsacks filled with school supplies, toiletries, a toy and a personal note of friendship.
New World Leadership students typically send over 100 peace packs to children in the United States and around the world each year. Most of the peace packs are created during the NWL Summer Camp, PEACE- I AM, where children experience the joy of giving through service and contribution.
To donate supplies to the PEACE PACK PROJECT simply call the NWL Office at 760.230.6655 or email New World Leadership Children's Academy. The Peace Pack Project is a project of the Kids For Peace non-profit organization.
NWL Student Published in WISH BIG book
Kaya Simcoe, a first grade student at New World Leadership Children's Academy, knows what it means to WISH BIG. Her picture depicting her big wish for the world was selected as one, out of hundreds submitted, to be published by Kids for Peace in their latest book release WISH BIG.
Every other year Kids for Peace, an international non-profit organization whose mission is to cultivate every childs innate ability to foster peace through cross-cultural experiences and hands-on arts, service and environmental projects, launches a book project to share the views of children from around the world. WISH BIG is a collection of vibrant and inspiring artwork by Kids for Peace members, illustrating their wish for the world. The contributors are children ages 3-11, representing Kids for Peace chapters everywhere and features dozens of children's wishes/illustrations such as Kayas.
Kaya's big wish: I WISH THE WORLD HAD MORE BUBBLES.
