New World Leadership Childrens Academy

The Elder Program (Leadership)

The Elder Program  truly embodies the New World Leadership value “wisdom of the whole” and therefore represents the NWL Leadership program. Teachers, visiting faculty and all governance associated with the children’s academy embrace a ‘knowing’ that individually we do not hold the full body of knowledge needed to create the sacred learning environment and sustain the community contributions necessary for our world’s development. The NWL leadership understands that when individuals come together and contribute the significance of their individual voice, the synergy of all contributions will raise the group as a whole to a higher evolution.

How exciting would it be to have a powerful, collaborative relationship with the educational resources related to our mutual commitment – YOUR child?

The Children’s Academy for New World Leadership is the training ground that not only believes, but creates that village. It is a community of children, supported by the guardians around them, who are using the eternal wisdom of the elders before them to master the tools to create the vision and potential of their dreams.

A PERSPECTIVE ON LEADERSHIP

Over the last few decades, the field of adult development has been active in mapping out the natural stages of development for adults. In particular, considerable research has been conducted on leaders and the implications for leadership. The trends are clear - we need leaders of all organizations to be at their highest level of maturity to be effective in their leadership today and in the future.

Research is showing that overall, most leaders transition through conventional stages, which is characterized by emphasizing teamwork, a balance of cooperation and competition, and balancing objectives. Only a small percentage of leaders - approximately 5% - currently transition to "post-conventional" stages, which are marked by increased intelligence, ability to decipher complex situations and data, as well as highly developed emotional intelligence. These characteristics enhance their ability to envision and engage others in a long term vision while balancing and incorporating short term objectives; they can form cooperative relationships and engage diverse support in situations where there are many competing interests. Examples of well-known post-conventional leaders are Ghandi, Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama and Martin Luther King.

New World Leadership is truly grooming future leaders. The curriculum teaches children from a very early age to develop these key leadership characteristics in their overall development and personality, thus positioning them to be effective leaders of tomorrow.
